Something weird in the Parker water supply

This is odd. I have two Republican friends who live in Parker, CO. They do not know each other. Both of them told me today that they had a dream last night in which they were driving with Barack Obama and having friendly chats with him. The dreams were not identical; one was driving a bus, the other a car. But that's still pretty weird.

LOL - I maintain that both of your Parker friends have somehow intuited that they are being "taken for a ride!" :-) Hee Hee

Cory, that's probably the right interpretation, although it's interesting you feel taken for a ride yet you have a friendship with the president. Curious combo.

Eric, the screenplay sounds cool. Anything like "Dreamscape"?

never saw dreamscape although i just read the plot summary and it sounds kinda cool and trippy.

well, in a nutshell ...
mine is about a gov't funded experiment that muddles people's dreams so they can't remember what they were dreaming about. the purpose of the gov't manipulation is to keep people working, spending, being the sheep that they are because that runs our country and makes it the best. if people could remember their dreams they would quit their job and stop the madness of 5 days a week, 9-5 until retirement. its about a bunch of teenage conspiracy theorists who stumble upon the issue and then find out its real. with the help of a young, new president who the teens contact in their dreams, they are able to take down the corporations who are funding the gov't's plan and destroy the dream scrambler

wanna read it? no one has ever read it and i'm still kinda hung up on my science explanation for how the govt jumbles everyone's dreams.

Eric, some suggestions for you for a dream-jumbling mechanism:

-There was a Star Trek: Next Generation episode in which the Enterprise was trapped in an energy well with another ship they couldn't see. The other ship's crew was trying to ask for help telepathically. The telepathic messages kept the Enterprise's crew from dreaming at night. The result was a buildup of seratonin among the Enterprise crew that resulted in them going insane.

-Check out "Prince of Darkness," one of the coolest horror films ever made. There was a religious sect called the Brotherhood of Sleep that was beaming video images (with the help of tachyonic particles) back in time to their church several years earlier. The images show Satan emerging from the church. They were trying to warn people in the church about it. People receiving these messages perceived them as dreams, but everyone in the church had the exact same dream.

Just the new cultural referrant

The medieval concept of the succubus and incubus, more recently replaced by alien abduction dreams, are both probably just the result of the particular imagery a culture imposes on the common dreamscape. So now we, or at least the Republicans among us, have moved on to a new set of dark forces to be so worried about that their images are projected onto the formless stuff of dreams and nightmares.

Obama should ber flattered to know that he, by himself, ranks right up there with demons and space aliens in the minds of the latter day superstitious.

Thanks, Glen! I suppose this is some sort of evidence of party polarization.

Friendship too strong of a word... but definitely a curiously pleasant exchange. Probably because I know that many of his policies will likely benefit us as a working middle class family? :-) I think the most important detail of my dream is that YOU were driving the bus.... I think maybe you're the one really running this show! LOL

Funny, I'm pretty sure it was last Tuesday--yeah, it was!--that I dreamt I was in a mall having a really nice lunch with Barack Obama. I'm not even kidding you; I told Katie about it that morning.

Maybe the Obama people have moved to a super-secret mind-infiltration system to support their policies.
