You raise an important point here: who is Obama's key surrogate? He seems to have lots of endorsements, but there's no equivalent to Bill Clinton stumping for Hillary. I bet if there's still a race after 2/5, we start seeing the press hound Gore for his preference.
No one has a surrogate like Big Dog. I doubt Gore will get involved, given his famous wrong choice in 2004, but that would be an ugly contest between him and Bill for best surrogate. Obama could send around Kerry. Best wait for Dukakis.
